Why Choose the WiseEye DC-2 IR?

Sharp, Long-Range IR Illumination

There are two versions of the WiseEye DC-2, and this is the 850nm IR low-glow version.

If nighttime picture and video clarity along with illumination distance are at the top of your list, this is the version I recommend. The 850nm IR bulbs produce a faint red glow when the camera takes a picture or video at night, but that comes with the advantage of excellent illumination distance and sharp nighttime images.

For most traditional hunting and wildlife scouting applications, I prefer the IR version for exactly that reason. I want to see as much detail as possible when that buck walks in front of my camera at night.

If your top priority is keeping your camera completely covert at night, especially for security purposes or wary animals in high-pressure areas, consider the DC-2 No Glow instead.

HD Pictures and Video

If high-definition pictures and video are at the top of your list, you’re looking at the right cameras.

WiseEye is well known for its picture quality, and the DC-2 delivers the highest quality pictures and videos I’ve seen from a cellular trail camera. Some of the pictures these cameras produce are so good they almost don’t look like trail camera pictures.

Excellent Cell Reception

If cellular reception has been an issue with other trail camera brands, the WiseEye DC-2 might surprise you.

I’ve tested multiple DC-2s in poor cell reception spots — we’re talking “No Service” on my phone spots. I was very surprised that they picked up service, and even more surprised by how quickly the images were sent out.

With 2 high-power cellular antennas and MultiCarrier connectivity, they really do an excellent job picking up service.

As with all cellular phones and trail cameras, poor cell reception consumes more power. In these poor reception scenarios, I highly recommend adding a WiseEye Solar Panel to help keep your camera charged up.

Easy Setup with Front-Facing LCD Screen

Setup in the field is a breeze.

With the DC-2’s front-facing LCD screen, you can see exactly where your camera is aiming. You don’t even need the app to set up the camera — the LCD screen makes it easy to adjust settings and check cellular signal strength all in one place.

Snap a few test pictures, check your HuntControl App, and you’re on your way to viewing crystal-clear HD pictures and video.

Live Stream

Have you ever been curious if there are deer on the far side of that food plot?

The DC-2’s Live Stream feature can help you find out. Just because there isn’t a deer directly in front of your camera doesn’t mean there aren’t any on the field or food plot.

Live Stream lets you remotely check what’s happening and is also a great feature for security purposes.

Just remember that Live Stream requires good cellular reception for smooth video transmission.

WiseEye DC-2 Li-Ion Battery Cartridges

My favorite option when paired with the WiseEye Solar Panel.

The DC-2 Li-ion Battery Cartridge replaces the standard 12 AA battery tray with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

It’s a great upgrade by itself if you want to get away from constantly replacing AA batteries, but where I really like the Li-ion cartridge is paired with the WiseEye Solar Panel.

The solar panel helps keep the Li-ion cartridge charged while the cartridge gives your camera additional battery storage capacity for cloudy days, nighttime, heavy camera activity, and other times when the solar panel isn’t producing enough power on its own.

For a long-term DC-2 setup in a location with good sunlight, the Li-ion Battery Cartridge + WiseEye Solar Panel is my favorite power combination.

WiseEye Solar Panels

If your camera location receives adequate sunlight, adding a WiseEye Solar Panel is one of the best ways to keep your DC-2 running long-term while reducing trips into your hunting area to change batteries.

The WiseEye Solar Panel has its own built-in 5000mAh Li-ion battery, so it doesn’t just provide power while the sun is shining — it stores power as well.

Pair it with the DC-2 Li-ion Battery Cartridge and you get even more battery storage capacity while allowing the solar panel to help keep the Li-ion cartridge inside your DC-2 charged.

I especially recommend solar power for cameras in marginal cellular reception areas. When a cellular camera has to work harder to find and maintain a signal, it consumes more power.

12V Trail Camera Battery Boxes

Don’t have enough sunlight for solar?

This is where I recommend a 12V battery setup.

Our weatherproof 12V battery box lets you add your own compatible 12V battery and gives your DC-2 a large external power source for long-term use.

The box includes an armored stainless-steel power cable to help prevent squirrels and other critters from chewing through your power cord — something I’ve dealt with more times than I’d like.

This is an excellent option for cameras buried back in the timber, remote locations, or anywhere you want long runtime without relying on sunlight.

IMPORTANT: 12V battery is NOT included.

WiseEye DC-2 Security Boxes

Trail cameras aren’t cheap, and unfortunately sometimes the biggest threat to them isn’t the weather or wildlife.

Add a WiseEye DC-2 Security Box for extra protection from theft, bears, and other potential damage.

The heavy-duty steel box is made specifically for the DC-2 and gives you multiple mounting options along with padlock holes on the front so you can lock your camera inside.

For cameras placed on public land where legal, along roads, near property boundaries, or anywhere else I’m concerned about theft or damage, a security box is cheap insurance for an expensive camera.

Mounting hardware, cable locks, and padlocks are not included.

WiseEye 32GB SD Cards

Optional — the DC-2 does NOT require an SD card.

The DC-2 already has 32GB of built-in internal storage, so you can run the cameras without purchasing SD cards.

However, you can add WiseEye 32GB Class 10 U3 SD cards if you’d like additional removable storage.

I personally like having an SD card in my cameras even when it isn’t required. It gives you removable storage and another way to access your full-resolution pictures and videos when you’re physically at the camera.

Which DC-2 Power Setup Should I Choose?

Li-Ion Battery Cartridge:
A great rechargeable replacement for AA batteries and an even better option when paired with solar.

WiseEye Solar Panel:
One of my top choices for long-term setups with adequate sunlight. It has its own built-in battery and can also help keep the Li-ion cartridge inside your DC-2 charged.

Li-Ion Cartridge + Solar Panel:
My favorite DC-2 power setup. You get the battery capacity of the solar panel plus the rechargeable Li-ion battery inside the camera, while the solar panel helps keep both charged.

12V Battery Box:
My choice for heavily shaded locations, cameras deep in the timber, or anywhere solar isn’t practical. Add your own compatible 12V battery and you have a large external power source without relying on sunlight.

Build Your DC-2 Bundle Your Way

Maybe you want Li-ion cartridges and solar panels for both cameras. Maybe one camera is going into an open location where solar makes sense while the other is going deep into the timber where a 12V battery box is a better choice. Or maybe you want security boxes on both but don’t need SD cards at all.
