Description
Protect and Secure
The all metal construction and locking options make the Cuddesafe a must for areas with bears or high chance of theft. The safe and safe door are easily locked using a single cable lock. If you screw or bolt the bear box to the tree you can also use a padlock to secure the door.
External Power Slot
The Cuddesafe L has a slot cut into the back near the top of the box to run your power cord out for external power options. This also helps protect your cords from bears since it will be tight to the tree behind the box, making it harder to grab.
Frequently Asked Questions Login to Ask a Question
- Can I use a padlock or cable lock with the CuddeSafe L?
Yes, you can use both a padlock or cable lock on the Cuddesafe SL-001.
The padlock can be attached through the tab and hole on the front of the safe, this will secure the door shut. To completely secure the camera using this method you will need to screw or lag bolt the box to the tree as well.
A cable lock can be routed through the holes in the top corner of the Cuddesafe and then around a tree. This will prevent the box from being opened and will also secure the box to the tree.
- How do I install the CuddeSafe L security box?
There’s a few different ways you can install and secure the Cuddesafe. The safe is compatible with all of Cuddebacks Genius mounts, so you could slide it into a mount. However the only one I would logically use would be the Genius Deluxe Metal Mount – Model MT-002 since it’s metal and can be screwed to the tree securely.
The Cuddesafe L also has slots for using a standard camera strap, so you could attach it to a tree without using a Genius mount.
My preferred way for rock solid mounting and security would be to screw or lag bolt the Cuddesafe directly to a tree or post. There are pre drilled holes in the back of the box to accommodate the screws or bolts. Using a wooden wedge or door stop behind the box works well to aim the camera properly before final tightening of the screws or bolts.
